Ray Ricchi for Collin County Judge Announces Terry Box as Campaign Treasurer

RAY RICCHI FOR COLLIN COUNTY JUDGE ANNOUNCES TERRY BOX AS CAMPAIGN TREASURER

McKinney, Texas – June 30, 2017 – The RAY RICCHI FOR COLLIN COUNTY JUDGE CAMPAIGN today announced retired Collin County Sheriff Terry Box as treasurer.

“We are assembling a talented and highly respected team with decades of experience in serving our county and are deeply committed to ensuring we have the right leadership in place as we continue to grow. I am pleased to announce the addition of retired Collin County Sheriff Terry Box – a well-respected elected official – to the campaign,” Ricchi said. “Terry Box is a trusted friend who brings a wealth of experience and first hand knowledge to our campaign. I have a great respect for his expertise and proven success in serving the citizens of Collin County and I’m pleased to have a man of such high caliber and conviction stand alongside me as I seek to earn their vote.”

Box, a McKinney native, retired after serving 32 years as Collin County’s elected Sheriff, with a total of 48 years in law enforcement. A conservative Republican, Box was elected in eight consecutive elections starting in 1986. One of the longest–serving sheriffs in the state of Texas, Box oversaw county law enforcement as the county grew exponentially – from a population of 214,000 in 1985 to nearly 1 million today. Collin is currently the 6th most populated county in the state of Texas. As Sheriff, Box managed more than 500 employees, and was responsible for the Collin County Jail, which grew in population from 35 inmates to over 1000 during his tenure. The Collin County Jail, with it’s direct supervision model, became the “gold standard” in management and efficiency for the state of Texas, leading Governor George Bush to appoint Box to the Texas Commission of Jail Standards, a board he eventually chaired.

In addition to his career in law enforcement, Box is also the founder of the Sheriff Box Shoot Out ‘Fore’ Kids, his popular annual golf tournament which has raised over $2.2 million for children’s charities.

“I believe Ray Ricchi is what the county needs right now. He is committed to serving the people with transparency, honesty and integrity. His leadership in government and experience in corporate America are needed for our county’s future. I am proud to join his campaign.”, said Box.
